How to Apply

Apply liberally (2mg/cm2 of skin) to exposed skin, in sections, then rub in to reduce the whitening effect. For children under 6 months of age: ask a doctor. For face & body, does not burn eyes.

Smart Sun Safety Tips

Reapply Mineral Sunscreen: After 80 minutes of swimming or sweating (preferably on dry skin), or immediately after towel drying, and at least every 2 hours.

Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease these risks, regularly use a sunscreen with a broad spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and practice other sun protection measures including:

  • Limit time in the sun, especially from 10am - 2pm.
  • Wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses.

Now put on your sunscreen and go play!

I've likely gone through 30+ different facial sunscreens in the past year and half, including but not limited to: 5 of EltaMDs, Neutrogena, 3 of La Roche Posay, Cerave, Cetaphil, 3 of Blue Lizard, 3 of SuperGoop, Waxhead, Suntegrity, etc.) trying to find the most optimal one for my needs. Although I found an everyday chemical Korean one which is not staining but not waterproof, I still wanted one that I could use for physical/sweating activities as well, and something that could color blend my face nicely together as a man. And this Stream2Sea Tinted right here is the one. Pros: - EWG Verified, one of only a few tinted zinc sunscreens that is - Never pills (Out of 11 tinted zinc sunscreens, this is the only one with no piling for me. Take this with a grain of salt though, I've seen reviews say that before but I didn't have the same experience as them) - High Zinc Oxide % = Better UV-A Protection (my main concern is UVA Spectrum coverage) - Included anti-oxidants, having free radical protection is an often overlooked factor of sun protection that needs more attention as it damages skin - Price (at time of purchase): $~11/oz, very comfortable pricing (compared to EltaMD of $~21/oz) - Excellent tint tone, can blend with different skin colors - I don't believe this feels greasy - No skin irritation on me - Sunscreen does not "crack" when stretching skin like EltaMD does (stretching as in opening mouth to eat, yawning, etc.) Neutral/No Factor: - Moisturizing factor not noticed, as I apply a moisturizer 3-5 min beforehand - Higher UV protection in water was not applicable in my situation, have not gone swimming with this - This product comes out thick, but does not necessarily go on as thick - No added fragrance but!: smells like what you think zinc would smell like, I personally enjoy it. Either way, not noticeable after application - Needs more effort and slight increased time to spread and blend to skin, not substantial though Cons: - Can stain clothing (all tinted mineral sunscreens will stain unfortunately, so don't wear this with white clothing please!) - Hard to remove, but this is common with waterproof sunscreens. Face wash does not do the trick, needs either more physical rubbing or a makeup remover like Garnier (works perfectly) - Too shiny, not enough to be concerning but definitely noticeable I am a Pilot, and while I can't wear this sunscreen with any uniform as it will stain it, it works phenomenally with my general aviation flying. On hot summer days in Arizona where the sun is blasting and the airplane cabin is toasty, this sunscreen does not fail me despite all the sweating on my face and neck. Further more, I have never noticed any sun burns with this. The color of the tint is fantastic for my skin, and I think for others as well. It does not make you look like an oompa loompa (*ahem Waxhead ahem*), nor is the tone too cold. A universal blend. Although the perfect sunscreen can never exist, as everyone has their own needs and desires, I believe I have found the closest thing to a "golden sunscreen", and because of that - I will continue to use this indefinitely (or until a better one is found). Pictures - 1: Bottle 2: Hand before application 3: Hand after 5 seconds of rubbing in (please ignore my lack-of-tan where my would-be watch is, my actual hand in the picture is my typical showing skin color) ------------- TLDR: After 11 tinted sunscreens, this is my favorite one. Strongly recommended to purchase to give it a try. Very fair pricing, great sweat protection, healthy ingredients, strong UVA protection, low risk of skin allergic reaction. Will recommend to family and friends!

I love that this product contains clean ingredients and it's ability to be blended to avoid a white cast. It is, also, extremely moisturizing and, so far, has not caused any breakouts; a good thing.

This is a great quality sunscreen that seems to do the job. I couldn't detect any kind of scent and the stuff seems to go a long way; it doesn't take too much to get good coverage. It does have a pretty thick consistency and doesn't really soak in super quickly, but eventually it blends in and doesn't really leave any residue or stickiness that I noticed. Overall, I like that this is reef-safe and a mineral-based product, but think it is a little too expensive for only 2.5 oz.

Wear this every morning! It has great coverage, the color is perfect and really looks good on different skin tones! It’s not oily, leaves the skin nice and soft and doesn’t sweat off so easily and best of all I don’t break out from it! Best tinted sunscreen I’ve found so far! Definitely recommend, will reorder!

It's hard to find a 50SPF sunscreen that works and doesn't irritate sensitive skin. It's early days but this seems to fit the bill. I don't see a white film on my skin but I'm already quite pale so... proceed with caution if you are blessed with melanin.

Love this for the beach

I expected more of a shimmering glow and not super noticeable flecks of gold. Took me by surprise to see it loaded onto my face. However, no one around me said anything and I dont think it overall looked like I was a gold tin man. Even so, know that they offer other options if you want to avoid any shimmer. It would be nice for day on beach, or maybe to add a little extra something to appearance of skin. I am used to wearing sunscreen nearly every single day (for various reasons, some medical) and am aware how much sunscreen is needed to be effective (1/4-1/3 tsp). Cant just dab on a little and think you're covered. It is easier to apply the amount needed when the formula is smooth and spread easily. This doesn't go on real easy. Feels kind of clunky and dry, yet doesnt feel dry (nor greasy) on skin. I definitely recommend following their directions to dab a little all over the face and massage it into place. Then add more. I had used it on totally dry skin (usually I apply after washing, after a base moisturizer), so I think it will go on better if I do my normal routine. This uses zinc, a physical mineral block. It sits on skin and reflects rays. It feels good on my skin. Sometimes I use mineral sunscreen sometimes chemical. I prefer mineral blocks for days out in the high intense sun. I have fair skin and sometimes the white cast of mineral blocks aren't all that noticeable to me. This is one of them. Curious why the ingredient list isn't included on this product page?? I would not have ordered had I been shopping around for a product. Will require a double cleanse., or at least a more diligent cleaning. When I double cleanse, I use oil based cleaner to break down the sunscreen, the followed with a water based cleaner to finish the job. I don't love it, but I don't dislike it. I don't rate on price. If we could do half ratings, I would give it 3.5. I like it better than 3 stars (its "OK"), so I am going with 4 stars ("good"). Even so, that is early impression rating. . I really need to put it the test in humid summer sun. At this time, I dont know if it would be a repurchase. We'll see. I will update if I have anything else to share in my experience with this.

Sunblock is an absolute necessity when it gets warm out and a lifesaver during the summer. It's something I'm guaranteed to buy each year, as it's far, FAR better to apply a ton of sunblock than it is to get burned. I got severely burned one year (although I was successful in ensuring the kids had sunblock on) and ever since then I've made sure to keep sunblock on and around. This has led to a few discoveries, one of which is that some types can lead to clogged pores. Full disclosure here: I can't water test this like I would want to at this point in time due to it not being swimming weather. But rest assured- it will be tested. I'm intrigued by the idea it would become better after you start swimming. Other than that, this is a nice lightweight sunblock. I like that this is aimed at reducing the amount of chemicals that go out into the ocean (or whatever body of water you happen to choose for swimming). I figure many have likely noticed this, but just in case: next time you go into the water take a look and you'll see some of the sunblock going off your body into the water. This happens even if you let it dry, so it makes sense that we should reduce the amount of chemicals we use in sunblock. This applies well and while it isn't as easy and handy as the spray bottles, I do think that it being nature safe is a good trade off. Not to mention, if it stays on better in water then that would also make for an excellent trade off - more water time and less or no sunburn time.
